Technically it isn’t Sunday yet where I am, but it’s already Sunday somewhere on Earth, and who’s going to stop me anyway? It’s been a while since the previous Random Things Sunday, so let’s get to it. I have a couple of recent articles, one timeless web site, and an interesting YouTube video about movies.

  • The US is running out of missiles due to its reckless war against Iran, reports Shatterbelt. Pre-war it had some 2300 JASSM-ER cruise missiles, but as of April 6, more than a thousand of those had been fired, and most of the rest are committed to this war as well. At the current rate of production it’ll take almost five years to replace that stockpile, and the situation with the Tomahawk missiles could be even worse.
  • Supercell published a rare article on their proprietary game engine called Titan. The engine supports all of their games like Clash Royale and Clash of Clans and offers unique and interesting technical challenges to the brilliant team developing it.
  • The Useless Web. Because not everything needs to have a purpose or be efficient. This site just has a button that takes you to a new random useless website every time you click it. You could waste a lot of time trying these out, and who knows, if you’re so inclined, be inspired to make a useless site of your own?
  • Why Movies Just Don’t Feel “Real” Anymore? Tom of the Like Stories of Old channel has put together a captivating look into why movies don’t feel immersive anymore. The video is almost thirty minutes long, so there’s a bit more to that than just “because it’s all CGI nowadays”!
